Slovakia is one of the most interesting countries to visit for thermal water lovers. In a relatively small area, you can find large family thermal aquaparks, year-round thermal swimming pools, historic medical spas and small resorts where the main attraction is a few hours in warm mineral water.
It’s just good to know that the term “thermal baths in Slovakia” covers quite different places. Tatralandia or Bešeňová are large water parks with water slides. Piešťany and Trenčianske Teplice, on the other hand, are classic spa towns focused on treatment and procedures. Podhájska, Veľký Meder or Dunajská Streda are somewhere in between.
1. Piešťany Spa
Piešťany is one of the most famous Slovak spas and is also very easily accessible from South Moravia. However, it is not a classic water park where you come to ride the water slides all day. Piešťany is primarily a large spa town built on thermal mineral water and unique sulfur mud.
The local thermal water emerges at a high temperature and, together with sulphur mud, is used primarily in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. The centre of spa life is located on the Spa Island, which is separated from the city by the Váh River. The spa tradition on the banks of the Váh River originated here 200 years ago thanks to springs with a water temperature of around 68 °C.
One of the most interesting places is the historic Thermia Palace hotel. Its spa facilities include a historic mud bath with a temperature of around 39 to 40 °C, a mirror pool with thermal water around 38 to 39 °C, several hydrotherapy pools and an outdoor thermal pool with water around 32 to 34 °C. There is also a sauna world and many spa treatments. The hotel was named one of the 20 best spa hotels in the world by Times magazine! That is a great success.
The Balnea complex at the Esplanade Hotel also offers extensive treatment facilities. More importantly, there is a large balneotherapy centre with thermal baths, rehabilitation, physiotherapy and dozens of other procedures. You will also find 10 swimming pools and a sauna world.
Interesting fact: With an area of 7,000 m², Piešťany Balnea is one of the largest balneotherapy centres in Central Europe. It houses over 140 therapeutic cabins and more than a million procedures are performed there annually.
What I like about Piešťany is that the thermal water is not an isolated attraction. You can walk around the spa island, go to the city centre, visit the Imrich Winter Balneological Museum, or turn your stay into a classic spa weekend.
For whom: couples, seniors, spa guests and anyone looking for a healing spa rather than a water park.
Accommodation: we recommend hotels directly on the Spa Island with their own wellness and spa facilities, especially Thermia Palace or the Esplanade hotel.
2. Bešeňová Thermal Baths

Bešeňová, along with Tatralandia, is one of the most famous water parks in Liptov. Its great advantage is the combination of thermal water, outdoor pools, indoor facilities and water attractions, so you can go here practically at any time of the year.
The thermal water is extracted from great depths (1987 m) and can be recognized, among other things, by the typical mineral color of some of the pools. The water in the individual parts of the complex has a different temperature, so you can alternate between warm relaxation pools with cooler pools intended more for swimming and fun. The water temperature in the pools ranges from a pleasant 24 to 40 °C.
The big advantage of Bešeňová is that it is not a purely summer aquapark. Some of the thermal pools operate year-round, and visiting in cold weather has its own charm. Sitting outside in hot water while it is several degrees above zero or snowing is a completely different experience than swimming in July.
Families will appreciate the water slides and children’s areas, while adults will appreciate the Harmonie sauna world, hot tubs and relaxation zones.
The number of open outdoor pools and attractions varies throughout the year. For example, in the fall, some summer areas only operate on weekends and in good weather. Therefore, before traveling, I recommend checking the current operation of individual pools, not just the general opening hours of the area. In total, you will find 17 different pools in the area, of which 4 are filled with mineral water.
Interesting fact: Bešeňová has 9 year-round swimming pools and 6 year-round water slides. The longest of them is 212 meters long.
Opening hours: Sunday to Thursday 10:00–20:00, Friday and Saturday 10:00–21:00.
For whom: families, couples, thermal water lovers and everyone who wants to combine swimming with a holiday in Liptov.
Accommodation: in my opinion, the best choice is accommodation right inside the aquapark – the more comfortable Galeria Thermal Bešeňová with a private thermal zone or the more affordable Hotel Bešeňová, where the thermal pools are literally a few steps away. Another hotel is Akvamarín Bešeňová with access to the thermal baths through a covered corridor and excellent reviews.
3. Podhájska Thermal Swimming Pool and Aquamarin Wellness

Podhájska is located in southwestern Slovakia in the Nitra Region. From Bratislava, expect a journey of over 100 kilometres.
The main attraction is the exceptionally mineralized thermal water pumped from a depth of approximately two kilometres. It is around 80 °C when it emerges and has a characteristic color and smell due to its high mineral content.
The complex consists of an outdoor thermal swimming pool and Aquamarin wellness centre. In summer, a large outdoor area with pools for swimming, relaxation and children operates. Aquamarin adds indoor pools, wellness and sauna facilities.
The water in the thermal springs has a strange, slightly rusty color and also has a specific “smell”.
Across the complex you will find 10 swimming pools, the Aquamarin spa and wellness centre with a sauna world and 4 more pools, a Roman bath, a sauna world and much more. 4 pools are filled with thermal water and 6 pools with utility water.
Interesting fact: Podhájska covers 12 hectares and can accommodate up to 5,500 visitors a day in summer. The thermal water flows from a 1,900-meter-deep borehole, from which it springs at 80 °C at a speed of around 30 liters per second.
A full-day entrance to the outdoor swimming pool for an adult costs approximately €16. A three-hour entrance to the Aquamarin pools costs €24.
Accommodation: directly in Podhájska we recommend Villa Gracia Podhájska with its own wellness or Rezidencia Podhájska with a swimming pool and wellness facilities.
Opening hours: Monday 1:00 PM–7:00 PM, Tuesday to Sunday 9:00 AM–7:00 PM.
For whom: lovers of highly mineralized thermal water, families and visitors to southern Slovakia.
4. Thermal Corvinus Veľký Meder
Veľký Meder is located in the south of Slovakia, near the Hungarian border, and has long been one of the most popular spas among Czech visitors. Local clients come here to treat musculoskeletal and rheumatic problems.
The current Thermal Corvinus Veľký Meder is a large year-round complex. The basis is seven year-round thermal pools and two indoor water slides, which are included in the regular admission fee. In the summer season, the offer expands to 13 pools and additional outdoor attractions are added.
Veľký Meder is also interesting from a geological point of view. The local deep thermal spring is one of the warmest in Slovakia and the water underground reaches exceptionally high temperatures. In the pools, of course, it is kept at a more pleasant temperature of approximately 38 °C.
The complex offers outdoor and indoor pools, children’s pools, relaxation areas, water slides and a sauna world with Finnish, steam, herbal and salt saunas. In summer, the atmosphere is significantly more like an aquapark, while outside the main season the complex feels calmer.
A regular all-day ticket for an adult costs approximately €19, a three-hour ticket costs €13.
Opening hours: normally 9:00–20:00.
For whom: families, seniors and couples. A good choice for those who want classic thermal baths and don’t need a luxury spa resort.
Accommodation: the most practical is Hotel Orchidea Spa & Wellness, which is located just a few dozen meters from Thermal Corvinus and has its own swimming pool and wellness; a quieter alternative is Hotel Plauter Kúria.
5. Trenčianske Teplice Spa

Trenčianske Teplice is one of the most accessible Slovak spas from the Czech Republic. It is known primarily for its sulfur thermal water and long spa tradition.
The spa currently uses six thermal springs. Their water has a temperature of approximately 38.4 to 40 °C and the individual springs have very similar chemical compositions.
According to legend, the springs in Trenčianske Teplice were discovered in the 13th century by a shepherd looking for a lost sheep. He used the springs to treat his tired feet from long walks. The rumor about the healing springs spread quickly and today they are used by thousands of guests every year.
The temperature is interesting. The water springs up at temperatures suitable for balneotherapy, so it does not need to be heated or cooled significantly. Thanks to this, not as much dissolved sulfate is lost during treatment.
The most famous place of the spa is the historic Hammam in oriental style. The Grand outdoor pool with thermal water at a temperature of 33 °C is available all year round. However, the spa complex consists of several thermal pools and baths intended primarily for treatment and regeneration.
I wouldn’t consider Trenčianske Teplice as a place for family aquapark fun. Their strength lies in the spa atmosphere, treatments, thermal water and a nice center, which is perfect for a slow weekend.
For whom: couples, seniors, spa guests and visitors looking for a quieter thermal stay near the Czech Republic.
Accommodation: Wellness Hotel Panorama has a very good location, just a few minutes walk from the spa; an alternative right in the center is Hotel Slovakia with its own wellness centre.
6. Bojnice Spa
Bojnice is located near the town of Prievidza in the Upper Nitra Basin. Most Czechs know it for the romantic Bojnice Castle and the zoo, but the local thermal baths have their own long tradition.
The Bojnice Spa uses nine springs with temperatures of approximately 28 to 52 °C. Thermal water is used in baths and medical procedures, especially in the care of the musculoskeletal system and some neurological diseases.
It is good to distinguish between the actual spa and public swimming. Some of the pools are mainly used by spa guests and for therapies, so Bojnice is not a typical water park.
But a trip here has a great advantage in the number of other options. Bojnice Castle, the zoo and the historic town itself can fill an entire weekend. Next to the spa is one of the most beautiful spa parks in Slovakia.
For water therapy, there are 7 hyperthermal and isothermal pools in Bojnice with a water temperature of 32–40 °C.
For whom: a peaceful spa stay, couples, seniors and visitors who want to combine the thermal baths with trips.
Accommodation: we recommend Hotel pod Zámkom with a swimming pool and wellness right in the center of Bojnice or the highly rated Penzión & Wellness MERIDIANA Bojnice.
7. Spa & Aquapark Turčianske Teplice

Turčianske Teplice has one big advantage over classic medical spas – in addition to spa treatments, there is also a real thermal aquapark open to the general public.
The complex combines a quieter SPA area and an Aquapark area with swimming pools and water attractions. You will find, for example, a warm relaxation pool, a rehabilitation pool, a whirlpool, outdoor sitting and swimming pools, and attractions for children.
The indoor part has 2 thermal pools – RED relaxation pool 38°C, PEOPLE’S rehabilitation pool 33°C, WHIRLPOOL – jacuzzi 35°C.
The outdoor area, called the aquapark, is filled with thermal water at a temperature of 33°C. There is a swimming pool, a sitting pool with massage jets, an attraction pool with massage loungers and water slides. In summer, there is also a children’s pool.
Guests are treated here for digestive and neurological problems and, as the only spa in Slovakia, also for kidney and urinary tract diseases. Moreover, thanks to the nearby Veľká Fatra National Park, the local nature is a real balm for the soul. The local spa park is suitable for long walks, enhanced by recently installed iron sculptures.
Turčianske Teplice seems to me to be a good compromise for a family where everyone expects something different. One can spend part of the day in the wellness centre, the other with the children in the aqua park, and in the evening everyone can gather in the warm pools.
An adult all-day ticket costs around €28. On Mondays and Thursdays they currently have a discounted all-day ticket for €12, but similar promotions may change over time.
Opening hours: Monday to Friday 11:00–20:00, Saturday and Sunday 10:00–20:00.
For whom: couples, families and visitors who want to combine a spa with a water park.
Accommodation: directly in the thermal spa area, including entrance fees, you will find the Royal Palace hotel ***** and also the VEĽKÁ FATRA hotel ****
8. Vadaš Thermal Resort Štúrovo

Vadaš in Štúrovo is one of the largest summer swimming pools in Slovakia. It is located in the very south of the country, on the border with Hungary, directly opposite the Hungarian city of Esztergom.
The main advantage of the area is the large outdoor pools. The lagoon with artificial waves is approximately 3,800 m², the Oáza pool is 1,145 m² and the Hviezda is around 1,350 m². Add to this 6 water slides, children’s areas and other summer attractions.
In addition, the town has a large lake with fishing opportunities and a wellness centre with saunas covering almost a square kilometer. An active vacation can be guaranteed by a rope park located on an island in the lake.
However, Vadaš needs to be evaluated differently than, for example, Veľký Meder. It is significantly seasonal. The largest outdoor pools operate mainly during the summer and individual parts have different lengths of season.
Outside the main season, you can use the indoor swimming pool or wellness centre, but the experience is significantly different compared to July.
A three-hour entrance fee to the indoor swimming pool for an adult costs €7. Summer prices vary depending on the part of the season.
The great advantage of Štúrovo is the possibility to combine swimming with a trip to Esztergom. Just cross the bridge over the Danube and in a moment you are standing under the monumental basilica.
The history of this place dates back to the Stone Age. The local healing water was already used by the Celts, who lived here in the early history of this city. Štúrovo is a regional centre of southern Slovakia and offers its guests a wide range of activities. The local thermal swimming pool is one of them.
Interesting fact: The Laguna pool with artificial waves alone has an area of 3,800 m². The entire Vadaš now offers 12 pools and in the summer also six water slides up to 81 meters long.
For whom: mainly families and summer holidays. I would choose a different area for a winter thermal weekend.
Accommodation: the most comfortable choice is the Wellness Hotel Thermal right next to the Vadaš area, whose guests can also use the thermal complex in the summer.
Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 21:00, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 21:00
9. Spa Aphrodite Rajecké Teplice

Rajecké Teplice is located in the Žilina region between Mala Fatra and Strážovský vrchy.
Spa Aphrodite Rajecké Teplice is one of the most beautiful and luxurious thermal complexes in Slovakia. It is characterized by ancient architecture, an extensive sauna world and a large number of indoor and outdoor pools.
There are a total of 11 pools with natural healing thermal water. The mineral thermal pool has approximately 37 to 37.5 °C, other pools are colder depending on the purpose. The water is bicarbonate, calcium-magnesium.
I would recommend this place more to adults, couples and visitors who want wellness rather than a water park. The atmosphere is much calmer than in Tatralandia or AquaCity.
In addition to the classic water world, the Natural Spa is worth noting with outdoor thermal pools and saunas set in a more natural environment.
Prices are higher than at regular thermal baths. A two-hour entrance to the pools costs €22 to €28 depending on the day, and a full-day entrance costs €50.
Rajecké Teplice has one more specialty. The southern slopes here are very fertile and local winemakers grow their own wine on them. When visiting, we recommend visiting one of the local wine cellars.
Interesting fact: Spa Aphrodite offers 11 pools with healing thermal water. The Kelo sauna here can accommodate around 80 people and its walls are lined with approximately 200-year-old wood.
For whom: couples, wellness stays and visitors looking for a higher level of service.
Accommodation: directly in the thermal spa area, including entrance fees, you will find the Aphrodite Palace Hotel ****
Opening hours: Monday to Sunday from 9:00 to 22:00
10. AquaCity Poprad

AquaCity is located directly in Poprad and, thanks to its location under the High Tatras, is one of the best areas for a combination of thermal baths, wellness and mountain holidays.
The thermal water contains over 20 minerals and comes from a depth of approximately 1,300 meters and is around 50 °C when pumped. It is cooled before being used in the pools.
Currently, AquaCity Poprad offers 13 indoor and outdoor pools with water at approximately 28 to 38 °C and more than 350 water attractions. It also includes water slides and a two-story wellness centre with an area of over 1,590 m² – one of the largest in Slovakia, as well as a sauna world with eight saunas and inhalation areas.
A big advantage is its year-round operation. AquaCity works very well in summer and winter, when you can ski or go to the mountains during the day and return to the warm water in the afternoon.
People go to Poprad’s thermal springs for treatment of the cardiovascular and nervous systems. The local nature also has a therapeutic effect. Poprad is located at the foot of the highest Slovak mountains and it is not for nothing that it is called the gateway to the High Tatras.
Families will appreciate the attractions and swimming pools, couples will appreciate the wellness, and visitors to the Tatras will appreciate the location right in Poprad.
For whom: families, couples and active holidays in the Tatras.
Accommodation: directly in the thermal spa / aquapark area, including entrance fees and half board, you will find the hotels AquaCity Seasons **** | AquaCity Mountain View **** and AquaCity Riverside ***
11. Nimnica Spa

The youngest Slovak spa can be found in the small village of Nimnica. There are several spa houses located in the local forest park, which draw on the natural healing spring B8. It has a beneficial effect on oncological diseases and diseases of the digestive system. But be careful, these are not classic thermal spas with hot natural springs.
The natural healing mineral springs in Nimnica are cold. For example, the water from spring B7 is around 15°C and B8 is approximately 13.5°C.
Nimnica is nevertheless an interesting spa town. It focuses on healing stays, mineral water, procedures and a peaceful spa atmosphere in nature above the Nosice reservoir.
So if you’re looking for a hot outdoor pool in the middle of winter, Nimnica won’t be the right choice. But if you want a quiet spa stay without big water parks and crowds, it’s worth considering.
Interesting fact: Nimnica was actually created by accident. The healing spring was discovered by workers in 1952 during the construction of the Nosice Dam. And although Nimnica often appears among the “thermal springs”, its main natural sources have only 13.5 to 15 °C.
For whom: spa and medical stays, relaxation and peace. Not for visitors looking for a classic thermal swimming pool.
12. Tatralandia

Tatralandia is the complete opposite of small, quiet spas. It is one of the largest aquaparks in Slovakia and a place where you can easily spend the whole day.
It currently offers 14 pools with thermal, sea and clear water and a total of 30 water slides and chutes, Wellness paradise and the unique Tatra-therm-vital complex.
A big advantage is Tropical Paradise – a covered tropical area with a stable temperature of around 30 °C. Here you will find tropical palm tree vegetation, swimming pools, a snorkelling pool and other attractions, so even a winter visit does not feel like an emergency version of a summer water park.
Tatralandia is open all year round. It operates from Sunday to Thursday 10:00–20:00 and on Friday and Saturday 10:00–21:00.
Of the thermal spas in this article, it is definitely one of the best choices for families. However, if you are mainly looking for quiet sitting in mineral water and a spa atmosphere, smaller areas are more suitable.
Tatralandia is located in a region full of folklore and folk traditions. If you come here in winter, visit the winter resort Jasná. The local ski slopes guarantee the perfect background for a number of winter sports. But the Tatralandia aquapark also offers its own winter attractions.
For whom: mainly families with children and lovers of water attractions.
Accommodation: directly in the thermal spa area, including entrance fees, you will find the Holiday Village Tatralandia hotels and, newly, Lake Garden Tatralandia.
13. Bardejovské Kúpele

It is also worth setting things straight about Bardejov Spa. It is a major Slovak medical spa, but not a classic thermal spa based on hot thermal water.
Their greatest wealth is their healing mineral springs, used, among other things, in drinking cures. Individual springs differ in composition and mineralization.
Bardejov Spa is located approximately five kilometres from the historic city of Bardejov, whose center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The spa area itself is surrounded by forests and has a much more traditional feel than the modern Slovak water parks.
The Bardejov spa is home to the only spa colonnade in Slovakia. It draws on eight mineral water springs, each of which has different healing effects. Their combination is perfect for a variety of climatic and balneological therapies. The local spa was visited in 1895 by the Austrian Empress Sissi, who, by her own account, left unusually rested and free from stress.
If you go here, expect a spa stay, wellness, treatments and trips rather than a whole day of swimming in hot outdoor pools.
For whom: traditional spa stays and visitors to eastern Slovakia. This is not a classic thermal aquapark.
14. Thermalpark Dunajská Streda

Thermalpark Dunajská Streda is located in the heart of Žitný ostrov in southern Slovakia and you will hear more Hungarian than Slovak here. It is interesting for Czechs due to its good accessibility, year-round operation and combination of classic thermal pools with summer attractions.
The entire complex covers approximately 18 hectares and features ten swimming pools – six outdoor and four indoor. The water temperature is approximately 24 to 39 °C, depending on the pool. In summer, there are also 7 water slides.
Some of the pools use thermal water, others use drinking water. For children there are two children’s pools and during the main season there is also a toboggan tower with seven slides.
Adults will enjoy the sauna world, where you will find a Finnish, infrared and bio sauna, a steam and salt cabin, a jacuzzi and a cooling pool.
The area is open year-round and, thanks to the connected indoor and outdoor areas, it also makes sense in bad weather.
A few kilometres from here you will discover a technological monument, the functional Gabčíkovo waterworks – a dam with a hydroelectric power plant.
For whom: families, couples and visitors looking for easily accessible thermal spas in southern Slovakia.
Accommodation: directly in the thermal spa area, including entrance fees, you will find the Thermalpark hotel ***
Opening hours: Monday to Sunday from 9:00 to 20:00
15. Sklené Teplice Spa

Sklené Teplice is one of the places that I would definitely include in my selection of Slovak thermal spas, even though it is not as well known as Bešeňová or Podhájska.
It is located in central Slovakia near Banská Štiavnica. Currently, the spa uses seven natural thermal springs with temperatures of approximately 37 to 52.3 °C.
The biggest rarity is the Parenica cave steam bath. Thermal water with a temperature of around 42 °C flows directly into the natural cave space. This is not an artificial thematic wellness cave, but a real natural peculiarity.
Due to the high water temperature, the bath itself is limited in time. It usually lasts a maximum of around 20 minutes, followed by rest in a dry wrap.
The historic Maria Theresa Bath and other spa baths are also interesting. However, Sklené Teplice is a completely different type of place than Tatralandia – no dozens of water slides, more peace, history and very warm thermal water.
If you are in the Banská Štiavnica area, the combination of the historic town and Sklené Teplice can be an excellent weekend program.
For whom: couples, lovers of traditional spas and anyone looking for something unusual.
16. Dudince Spa and Dudinka Swimming Pool

Dudince lies in the south of central Slovakia and is known primarily for its healing mineral water. In their case, it is again necessary to distinguish between classic healing spas and summer swimming pools.
The main spa operation is focused on therapeutic stays, mineral baths and other procedures. For the average visitor, the Dudinka swimming pool is particularly interesting in the summer.
The complex has four swimming pools. The recreational pool has water at approximately 26 to 28 °C, the pool with attractions at around 28 °C, the children’s pool at approximately 30 °C and a separate sitting mineral pool with Dudince healing water at a temperature of 33 to 34 °C.
There is also a water slide, a family slide and other water features. The mineral pool is not intended for swimming and is limited in time.
The swimming pool is seasonal. A three-hour entrance fee for an adult costs €7.50 on weekdays and €9 on weekends.
Outside of summer, visitors can use some spa and wellness services, but public access to the therapeutic pools is not the same as at a regular water park.
For whom: a quiet summer vacation, health spa stays and visitors who don’t need a large water park.
Accommodation: in Dudince we recommend Hotel FLÓRA retro with an indoor pool, sauna and wellness facilities, from where you can easily reach the spa center and the Dudinka swimming pool.
17. HolidayPark Kováčová

HolidayPark Kováčová is located just a few kilometres from Zvolen and is one of the places that well combines classic thermal water with a more modern family area.
The local thermal mineral water has a temperature of approximately 48.5 °C at the well. In the eight pools of the HolidayPark, it is cooled to 26 to 38 °C.
The complex is open all year round. In the indoor area you will find a relaxation pool, whirlpool, children’s pools and a 60-meter long water slide. Outside, there is a mainly pleasant sitting pool with thermal water around 38 °C. In the summer, other recreational, swimming and children’s pools open.
In my opinion, Kováčová is one of the best compromises for a family that doesn’t want the giant Tatralandia, but at the same time would be bored in a classic spa.
In the high season, a full-day adult ticket costs €18 when purchased in advance online, and €22 at the box office.
The location is also a big advantage. Zvolen, Banská Bystrica, Sliač spa or Kremnica are easily accessible by car, so you can easily combine the thermal baths with trips.
For whom: families, couples and weekend stays in central Slovakia.
Accommodation: a pleasant hotel option near the HolidayPark is Hotel Kochau with its own wellness; if you want to stay right in the village as close as possible to the thermal baths, the Spa Apartmán Kováčová is also very well rated.

Which thermal baths in Slovakia are best for children?
If the main reason for the trip is children, I would choose differently than for a couples’ stay.
- Tatralandia offers the largest number of attractions. It has 14 swimming pools and 30 water slides and chutes, and thanks to the indoor tropical section, it works well even in winter.
- Bešeňová is also a very good family choice, combining thermal pools with water slides and children’s areas.
- AquaCity Poprad makes a lot of sense if you want to combine your vacation with the High Tatras.
- In the summer I would add Vadaš Štúrovo. Its outdoor pools are huge and especially in the main season children will make full use of the area.
- Among the smaller thermal spas, Kováčová is a family-friendly one.
On the contrary, I would choose Piešťany, Trenčianske Teplice or Sklené Teplice mainly because of the spa atmosphere and thermal water, not because of children’s attractions.
Which Slovak thermal baths are best in winter?
In my opinion, thermal baths are perhaps even more magical in winter than in summer. The best areas are those where you can switch between the indoor part and the really warm outdoor pools.
A good winter choice is:
- Bešeňová – thermal pools and a large year-round area,
- Tatralandia – Tropical Paradise and year-round attractions,
- AquaCity Poprad – an ideal connection to the High Tatras,
- Veľký Meder – seven year-round thermal pools,
- Rajecké Teplice – more luxurious wellness and hot thermal pools,
- Turčianske Teplice – aquapark connected to the spa area,
- Kováčová – a smaller year-round thermal area.
On the other hand, Vadaš or the Dudinka swimming pool are much more interesting in the summer. Before you go to Podhájská, check the dates of regular closures between seasons.
Thermal baths in Slovakia near the Czech Republic
The spa towns in western Slovakia are best accessible from Moravia.
You can easily get to Piešťany and Trenčianske Teplice. Thermal resorts in the south of the country, such as Dunajská Streda or Veľký Meder, also make sense for a long weekend.
If you are driving from Ostrava, Rajecké Teplice and the northern part of Slovakia also become more interesting.
Bešeňová, Tatralandia and AquaCity Poprad are a longer journey, but on the other hand, you can easily combine them with a several-day holiday in the mountains.
