Where is Terma Bania located?

How to get to Terma Bania Thermal Baths?

Terma Bania baths are located near the Slovak border and will logically be most accessible for visitors from Eastern Moravia or Silesia (Czech Republic). The journey by car from Ostrava takes about 3 hours, from Zlín about 4 hours, from Brno less than 5 hours, but from Prague (depending on the chosen route) it is closer to 7 hours.

By public transport, you usually travel via nearby larger cities, especially Krakow, and then possibly via Nowy Targ, or Zakopane, from where you can take bus lines to the village of Bialka Tatrzanska. However, for example, the FlixBus company offers a direct connection to Bialka and Terma Bania directly from Krakow – the journey costs approximately 40 to 60 Zloty, or about 200 – 300 CZK. FlixBus also offers direct connections from other cities, including Warsaw.

Therefore, transport accessibility is not bad at all, even though it is a remote mountain village. Thanks to the high tourist traffic (ski resorts, spa,…) many connections head here that you can use.

What do the Terma Bania thermal baths offer?

The thermal baths in the mountain village of Bialka Tatrzanska are among the modern thermal facilities. The plan for their construction only arose in 2006, and the finished spa opened to the public in 2011. At first glance, they attract attention with their unique architecture and ability to blend in with the beautiful natural surroundings. The main buildings are conceived in the form of artificial hills.

They have a wavy shape and even a grass-covered roof. They are surrounded by an outdoor pool and entertainment area with many relaxation loungers on natural grassy areas. Thanks to this, the spa does not act as a disturbing element in the landscape but rather as its fluid part.

The spa is located in the Podhale region, which is extremely rich in thermal springs – the density of their occurrence is remarkable. Terma Bania uses a thermal spring that flows from a bore hole 2.5 km deep. This thermal, mineral water has a temperature of 72°C in the depths. However, you don’t have to worry about boiling like a lobster in the pools and whirlpools. The water is, of course, cooled, and you can warm up in the thermal pools at pleasant temperatures between 34  and 38°C

Polish Tatras – Not Just a Thermal Paradise

The Terma Bania thermal baths are located in the Polish village of Bialka Tatrzanska, only about 10 km from the Slovak border and the Tatra National Park. They are thus a spa set in the beautiful environment of the Tatra foothills. They are situated in the deep valley of the Bialka River, surrounded by high, nearly thousand-meter hills and beautiful nature.

Perfect Skiing and Summer Hiking

Immediately next to the thermal baths is the ski resort on Kotelnica hill, which measures 917 meters. It is a relatively extensive and well-equipped ski resort. After skiing, you can jump to warm up in the baths, which also offer indoor – year-round – operation. Other slopes and chairlifts are offered by the surrounding hills Jankulakowski Wierch, Wysoki Wierch, Litwinka, and others. In summer, you can enjoy mountain hiking, for example.

A popular tourist trail leads along the ridges of the hills above the baths, which you can use to reach the town of Bukowina Tatrzanska or Brzegi. There are many other trails here that promise magnificent views.

The Terma Bania thermal baths are located between the towns of Nowy Targ and Zakopane. Both are well-known and highly significant Tatra tourist centres. Zakopane, in particular, is an important mountain resort known to most Czechs – especially in the past, it was a popular excursion town visited not only for skiing or nature but also for shopping, great markets, and other pastimes.

Thermals Everywhere You Look…

Zakopane has, among other things, its own thermal baths with beautiful mountain panoramas and excellent facilities. However, these are not the only quality thermal baths in the area. This region is literally dotted with top thermal spas and water parks, and we could truly call it a “thermal paradise.” In addition to the mentioned baths in Zakopane and Terma Bania, which we will focus on in detail, you can also visit Termy Szaflary and the adjacent Goracy Potok thermal baths.

The latter spa, in particular, is truly unique and beautiful – it is one of the most stylish and best not only in Poland but perhaps in the whole of Central Europe. You can already find a detailed review on our website. Furthermore, it is only about 5 km away as the crow flies from Terma Bania. By car, it is about a 15-minute drive.

Bukowina thermal baths, located about a 13-minute drive south of Terma Bania, can also boast a very beautiful environment. And then there are, of course, the Chocholowskie Termy near the town of Chocholów, which are about a 45-minute drive to the west.

It is clear that the area around Bialka Tatrzanska is an exceptionally great destination, whether you are coming for relaxation in the thermal baths, skiing or other winter and summer sports, entertainment, culture, or perhaps just the beauty of nature.
