Termy Cieplickie Thermal Baths, Poland, are located in the small town of Jelenia Góra, just a few kilometers from the well-known Polish thermal baths in Karpacz. The local region is well-known not only to the inhabitants of nearby Liberec. Jelenia Góra is a popular place for cheap shopping in Poland.

The journey from Prague to Cieplickie Thermal Baths takes approximately 2.5 hours (a distance of about 165 km). The local Termy Cieplickie spa is therefore suitable even for a short one-day visit. However, this does not mean that visitors from Moravia cannot come here. But for them, Termy Cieplickie thermal baths are more worthwhile for a multi-day visit.

What conditions are treated at the Termy Cieplickie thermal spa?

Termy Cieplickie spa is typical for its weakly mineralized and fluoride-siliceous water. The therapeutic effects of the spa have been known for hundreds of years. It was first described by the local doctor Caspar Schwenckfeld at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. The following diseases are treated at the Termy Cieplickie thermal spa:

  • Rheumatic diseases,
  • Osteoporosis,
  • Diseases of the eye and its adnexa.

Other beneficial effects of the local thermal water include preventing the formation of urinary stones and dental caries. The mineralized water also acts on urination problems and diuresis. Like other thermal baths, the water at Termy Cieplickie also has antibacterial effects.

The thermal water at Termy Cieplickie Spa springs from five sources. The water temperature reaches 37∘C in the shallow springs, 65∘C in the deep ones, and an incredible 87∘C from the last spring, which flows from a depth of 1500 meters underground, making it the hottest thermal spring in Poland.

  • Cieplice-2 (the most abundant, with a flow rate of 10 m3/h)
  • Cieplice-1 (currently unused) – depth 1500 meters underground

Although the spa complex is also open to ordinary tourists, the spa focuses on the treatment of patients. The complex includes four spa hospitals, six sanatoriums, two natural treatment facilities, and a spa hospital. Recreational patients thus receive all conceivable care here.

In addition to sick patients, the Polish Termy Cieplickie Spa also focuses on tourists who come here for warm mineral water and water fun. The water area covers 1155 m2, the total size of the complex is 5690 m2.

However, the comprehensive services fully suit families with children who will enjoy their stay at the swimming pool on the border of two landmark parks: the Norwegian Park and the Spa Park.

A complex of pools is located on an area of ​​more than one square kilometer. In addition to the classic recreational pool with swimming lanes, you will find:

  • 2 paddling pools for children with a slide and pool spouts,
  • 2 thermal pools with water attractions,

  • Outdoor recreational pool with a water slide.

There are sunbeds by the pools, and nearby you will also find a sports complex with basketball hoops. Thanks to the smaller complex, you can move to the local restaurant facility in a matter of moments, where you can refresh yourself with a selection from the current menu.

In addition to classic pools, the Termy Cieplickie thermal baths also have other water attractions. Both thermal pools have hydro-massages and swings with massage benches.

SPA and Wellness at Termy Cieplickie

The wellness section is part of the relaxation area of the spa. The sauna center includes a Finnish and steam sauna with cooling pools. You can also warm up in the local tepidarium and jacuzzi bath with massage jets.

The specialties of Termy Cieplickie are the snow cave and the ice fountain. After a sudden cool-down, you can enjoy your stay in the relaxation room with heated sunbeds.

Qualified trainers guide exercisers through basic movements and elements of water aerobics. Aqua aerobics is recommended for people who want to restore their motor skills and people who are shy about water.

The massage offer is also interesting. Experienced physiotherapists will welcome you for a classic massage, but you can also enjoy an anti-cellulite massage or the popular candle massage. Female guests praise the face, neck, and décolleté massage from certified masseuses.

We only point out that the price of the two-hour admission between 9:00 and 19:00 is not valid during the season from 1. 7. to 31. 8. On these days, you will pay 51 zlotys (€11.97) for a short admission to the pool and 61 zlotys (€14.34) for the pool with SPA.

The Termy Cieplickie thermal spa offers discounted admission to seniors over 60, school youth over 16, students up to 26, and people with disabilities. If you want to claim this discount, bring a document entitling you to the discount.

Termy Cieplickie Spa is open to visitors on weekdays and weekends alike. The standard opening hours of the spa are from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day. Visitors thus have the opportunity for all-day water fun at a low price.

The Cieplickie thermal spa itself does not have its own accommodation. However, you will find rich accommodation options directly in the town of Jelenia Góra.

  • Hotel Cieplickie is located less than 500 meters from the thermal spa. A night for two in this modern hotel costs approximately 1500 CZK off-season (approx. €59.98). It is popular, primarily among Czech and Polish clientele, with positive customer reviews. The hotel can accommodate up to 248 visitors in 98 rooms.
  • Hotel Bella is a little further away. However, the romantic accommodation with facilities in a historic building will breathe its atmosphere on you. As with Hotel Cieplickie, customer reviews and experiences are generally positive.
  • Hotel Lake Hill Resort offers luxury accommodation with a view of the Polish side of the Giant Mountains. The hotel has its own restaurant, pool, and focuses on demanding German clientele. Accommodation for two for a night off-season will cost you approximately 4000 CZK (approx. €159.95). However, you should expect a slightly longer distance from the spa.
  • Piastowski26 – another option may be the aparthotel with a restaurant, bar, and room service, Piastowski26. It is located about a 15-minute walk from the thermal baths.

In addition to hotels, you can also find accommodation through AirBnb in Jelenia Góra. As elsewhere in Poland, however, accommodation in rooms and apartments will not cost you much less than in hotels.
