Are you considering a spa holiday in thermal baths and would like direct access from the hotel to the pools, wellness centre and saunas? Many excellent Central European spas offer the option of exclusive, direct access. We have prepared an article for you with plenty of tips on the best thermal spas connected to a hotel in Hungary, Austria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Hotels connected to spas in Hungary

1. Park Inn by Radisson Hotel and Spa Zalakaros

The Zalakaros thermal spa and water park is located in the small town of the same name, just a short distance south of Lake Balaton, which surely needs no introduction. Across an area of around 12 hectares, you will find numerous pools with rare and healing thermal water, as well as more than sixty attractions for children and adults. The water park extends across both outdoor and indoor areas. There are water slides, wave pools, a lazy river and much more.

Right next to the spa is The Park Inn by Radisson hotel. Its connection with the well-known and prestigious Radisson brand suggests that this 4-star hotel will also appeal to demanding guests. It is connected to the spa by a heated corridor. The hotel itself offers a restaurant and bar, as well as well-equipped rooms furnished in a modern, minimalist style.

It is also possible to book a stay with all-inclusive dining.

2. Park Inn by Radisson Sárvár Resort & Spa

Sárvár is a pleasant spa town in western Hungary, not far from the Austrian border. The local thermal spa uses sodium-rich healing water, which is used, for example, to treat musculoskeletal problems, gynaecological issues and asthma. The baths in Sárvár is rather smaller, but it offers a nice setting and a pleasant atmosphere. There is also an outdoor bathing area, along with several water slides and other attractions, so children will not be bored either, even though this is not exactly a huge aquapark.

Of course, there is also an excellent wellness centre. The thermal spa is directly connected by a corridor to the Park Inn by Radisson hotel. Yes, it is the same chain as in Zalakaros. The hotels are almost identical, and this one also offers 4-star accommodation quality and all-inclusive dining included in the stay.

3. Portobello Wellness & Yacht Hotel Esztergom

Portobello Wellness & Yacht Hotel is part of the Esztergom thermal water park, which lies in the city between the Danube and one of its branches. It is a spa with both indoor and outdoor areas, offering a wonderful view of the famous basilica, the city’s landmark. The spa has several pools, a few attractions and a wellness centre, so the whole family can enjoy themselves here.

Hotel Portobello offers four-star accommodation and directly adjoins the spa area. The hotel also has a children’s playroom and a good restaurant. The biggest draw, however, is undoubtedly the exclusive access to the spa and wellness centre.

4. Kehida Termál Resort & Spa

The four-star Kehida hotel is part of the healing and experience spa that you will find in the village of Kehidakustány, near Hévíz by Lake Balaton. The spa offers indoor and outdoor pools, as well as a range of attractions, including a 96-metre-long water slide. It is an attractive destination for the whole family, and the proximity of Lake Balaton is undoubtedly another advantage.

Hotel guests have direct — the hotel is located right in the spa complex — and free access to all parts of the spa, from the pools to the wellness and sauna world, as well as the children’s playroom. Hotel guests therefore go to the spa in bathrobes and slippers. The Kehida Termál Resort & Spa hotel is fairly peaceful, just like the spa itself. It is clean, well equipped and very highly rated.

5. Hunguest Bük

The western Hungarian town of Bük is home to the well-known Bükfürdő spa, which lies away from the town itself, surrounded by a spa resort area. The spa has a more classic character and is focused more on peace, rest and the treatment of various conditions. Apart from a few older water slides, there are relatively few attractions here. On the other hand, you will appreciate the size and spaciousness of the spa, whose individual pools are set in a green, shady park. This makes the spa especially popular among older visitors.

Hunguest is probably the largest hotel in the resort and offers direct access to the spa area. It is a 4-star hotel with 360 rooms, very modern and cleanly furnished, and recently renovated. There is wellness and fitness, children’s corners, restaurants and bars, as well as other facilities.

6. Thermal Hotel Mosonmagyaróvár

The Flexum Thermal & Spa is not particularly well known in the Czech Republic. However, it is a very elegant thermal spa with an almost luxurious feel. At least by Hungarian standards, it is very nicely, cleanly and attractively furnished, and there are also large swimming pools. There is somewhat less for children to do here. The children’s section has more modest attractions. Even so, this place is definitely suitable for families with children as well.

The local Thermal hotel, offering direct access to the spa, is also designed in an elegant style. It has its own wellness centre with a salt cave, a restaurant and other facilities.

7. Hunguest Hotel Aqua Sol Hajdúszoboszló

The only hotel in the Hajdúszoboszló thermal spa from which a closed corridor leads directly to the year-round Aqua-Palace, then on to the Hungarospa medicinal baths and, in season, also to the huge outdoor bathing area. Guests can move between their room and the pools repeatedly during the day without buying a new ticket.

Entry to the indoor Aqua-Palace, the medicinal baths and the seasonal bathing area is usually included in the stay, but the separate summer Aquapark with large slides and Premium Zone is paid for separately. Access to the outdoor bathing area is seasonal, roughly from May to the end of September.

This is probably the most comprehensive Hungarian option for families who want healing water, an indoor aquapark and a large summer bathing area without having to go outside.

8. Hunguest Hotel Szeged / Napfényfürdő Aquapolis

The hotel is connected to Napfényfürdő Aquapolis, one of the largest year-round water complexes in Hungary. The facility has approximately 4,400 m² of water surface, and its best-known attraction is the 272-metre-long year-round water slide. The stay also includes access to the peaceful Forrás Spa area, reserved only for visitors aged 16 and over, so the place is not just for families with children.

The best choice if you want a real aquapark, thermal pools and a separate relaxation zone for adults at the same time.

More Hungarian hotels connected to thermal spas

• Hunguest Hotel Gyula – the only hotel with its own covered connecting corridor to Gyulai Várfürdő, or the Castle Baths. The spa itself is unusual because of its location: it spreads across the approximately 8.5-hectare protected park of the former Almásy Castle, right next to the brick castle of Gyula. There are 19 indoor and outdoor pools, a 50-metre swimming pool and a family aquapark.
• Hunguest Hotel Freya, Zalakaros – Freya is connected to the Zalakaros spa by a heated corridor, so you can get from your room in a bathrobe directly to the healing pools, the experience area and the children’s Vizipók-Csodapók water world. An interesting benefit: hotel guests have their own separate relaxation area in the summer part of the spa.
• Hunguest Saliris, Egerszalók – one of the most visually interesting thermal resorts in Hungary. The hotel and Saliris spa form a shared complex directly beneath the limestone “Salt Hill”, which is created by long-term mineral deposits from the thermal water. The spa has 17 indoor and outdoor pools with a total water surface of roughly 1,900 m². The standard hotel rate includes unlimited access to the pools, but not automatically to the sauna world.
• Hunguest Hotel Sóstó, Nyíregyháza – the only hotel in the Sóstógyógyfürdő spa area with a closed corridor directly to Aquarius Experience and Park Bath. The complex has 22 pools spread across a large ten-hectare green area and combines thermal, experience, children’s and seasonal outdoor sections. It is a suitable base for a multi-day family stay.
• Hunguest Hotel Flóra, Eger – the hotel underwent a complete reconstruction and reopened in 2025. From the hotel lobby, guests enter directly into the municipal thermal spa in Eger, whose pools they can use without an additional entrance fee. The access is direct, but it is not a classic closed and heated corridor. The historic Turkish bath opposite the hotel is also not included in the entry and is paid for separately.
• Gotthard Therme Hotel & Conference, Szentgotthárd – the hotel is connected to the Szentgotthárd Spa & Wellness spa by an internal heated corridor, and basic use of the thermal and experience section is included in the accommodation price. The spa is known for its Mediterranean-style hall, thermal pools, whirlpools, Roman section and slides. A major advantage is its location in the far west of Hungary, near Austria and Slovenia. For Czech visitors arriving via Vienna or Graz, it may therefore be more accessible than spas in the east of the country.

Hotels connected to spas in Slovakia

1. Hotel Galeria Thermal Bešeňová

Bešeňová thermal park ranks among the most modern, largest and best-equipped thermal aquaparks in Slovakia. It is interesting already thanks to its location almost on the shore of the Bešeňová reservoir. The thermal park, which offers a large number of pools, slides and other attractions, top-class wellness and many other services and options, is part of a holiday complex with several hotels and other accommodation options.

If you have high expectations, a good choice may be, for example, the 4-star Hotel Galeria, which also has its own private outdoor pools and, of course, allows exclusive access to the water park. This hotel appeals with its beautiful architecture and setting and will impress even demanding guests.

2. Hotel Akvamarín Bešeňová

We remain in the Bešeňová thermal park and aquapark introduced above. Another luxury hotel in this spa and recreation complex is Hotel Akvamarín. Again, it is a hotel with direct access to the water park through a covered heated corridor and with benefits for guests. You go from your room straight to the spa in a bathrobe. You can also look forward to a private thermal pool, as well as bars, restaurants and excellent facilities for children. Akvamarín is the largest hotel in the resort and is ideal for guests who like extensive facilities and having everything close at hand.

3. Apartmány Termál, Dunajská Streda

The town of Dunajská Streda in southern Slovakia attracts visitors with its excellent and very well-known thermal baths and water world, which offer fun and activities for the whole family. This thermal aquapark is very modern and highly rated. It delights with large, mainly outdoor areas, where you will also find a natural lake. If you like plenty of space, large water surfaces and excellent attractions, Dunajská Streda can be a great choice.

Very pleasant accommodation is offered here by Apartmány Termál. This is three-star accommodation with an excellent price-to-quality ratio. The facilities are new and clean, and the apartments are located right by the spa, with which they are connected by a connecting corridor that operates both in summer and winter.

4. Aphrodite Palace, Rajecké Teplice

If you want to enjoy a spa holiday in an antique style and, on top of that, in the heart of beautiful nature, the spa in Rajecké Teplice is a clear choice. These elegant, exclusive baths are ideal for a relaxing, restorative and peaceful holiday in a more luxurious spirit.

Excellent accommodation is offered, for example, by the four-star Aphrodite Palace spa hotel, which is connected directly to the antique baths by a corridor bridge. The hotel rooms are furnished in a classic, refined and highly decorative style. The local restaurant has a similar atmosphere.

More Slovak hotels connected to thermal spas

• Hotel Mountain View and Hotel Seasons in AquaCity Poprad – Both four-star hotels are part of the AquaCity Poprad complex, and hotel packages include unlimited access to the thermal aquapark as well as the two-storey Fire & Water Wellness & Spa. A special advantage is that all-day entry is also included on the day of departure, so after leaving your room you do not have to leave the aquapark.
• Royal Palace, Turčianske Teplice – The five-star Royal Palace is connected to the Spa & Aquapark by a covered “dry-foot” route. It also has its own more intimate balneology centre, Royal Bath, with 38 °C healing thermal water directly above the thermal spring.

Hotels connected to spas in Poland

1. BUKOVINA Hotel

The Bukovina thermal baths and aquapark seem made for a wonderful mountain holiday with water experiences and relaxation. The spa lies in the beautiful natural surroundings of the Polish Tatra Mountains, not far from the Slovak border. It offers more than 20 pools, numerous attractions, 8 saunas and other facilities. All this with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and forests.

The Bukovina hotel complex is located directly by the spa. It is a brand-new alpine-style building, and every room has a spacious balcony or terrace. Thanks to its 4-star standard, the hotel is also suitable for demanding guests who want high-quality facilities, comfort and luxury.

2. Hotel Gołębiewski Karpacz

From the Polish Tatras, we move to the Polish side of the Giant Mountains. Excellent accessibility from the Czech Republic, however, is far from the only or even the greatest advantage of this place. Hotel Gołębiewski Karpacz is a truly gigantic hotel complex where you will find absolutely everything. From perfectly luxurious interiors to its own aquapark and thermal spa, as well as, of course, outdoor pools and a fantastic wellness centre.

The hotel is also located only about 100 metres from the ski slopes. It is an excellent place where you will lack nothing and where you can enjoy a wonderful holiday combining bathing, relaxation, hiking, skiing and other activities.

3. Hotel Bania Thermal & Ski

Another excellent Polish spa, again — like the previous ones — set in beautiful natural surroundings, specifically at the foot of the Polish Tatras and sensitively integrated into the landscape. Remarkable architecture, thermal water, many outdoor and indoor pools, slides and other attractions. Terma Bania offers everything your heart desires and is one of the most popular Polish thermal spas.

Right opposite the aquapark is the large Hotel Bania, which is connected to the spa by a covered bridge. It is a four-star mountain-style hotel, with beautifully landscaped indoor and outdoor areas. The view alone is an experience — and that is before we even mention the facilities and services. A fantastic holiday is guaranteed.

More Polish hotels connected to thermal spas

• Hotel Aquarion Family & Friends – Zakopane – Aquarion is connected directly to Aqua Park Zakopane by a covered passage on the second floor. This means you can reach the pools regardless of the weather and without having to cross the busy streets of Zakopane. The aquapark offers indoor and outdoor thermal water pools, a wild river, slides, whirlpools and a sauna area. The direct hotel passage can only be used if the booking includes a thermal package or if the guest buys admission at the hotel reception.
• Apartamenty Termy Szaflary – The apartments form the accommodation part of the Termy Szaflary complex. Current stays include unlimited access to the thermal pools and, for adults, also to the sauna zone.
• Termy Karkonosze Resort & Spa, Staniszów near Jelenia Góra – The new five-star hotel offers indoor and outdoor pools with fluoride-silicic thermal water. Rooms in the main hotel building have direct access to the pool and wellness area without the need to go outside. From the apartments, you have to walk a short distance to the main hotel building.

Hotels connected to spas in the Czech Republic

1. Hotel Thermal, Karlovy Vary

The 4-star Hotel Thermal is one of the distinctive traditional symbols of Karlovy Vary. It is known primarily thanks to its iconic “rooftop” thermal pool. This pool recently underwent a long-awaited and very extensive reconstruction.

In addition to the outdoor pool, a spacious indoor wellness and spa centre awaits you, with more pools and a large sauna world. The complex is directly connected to Hotel Thermal, which offers an excellent level of accommodation and services.

More Czech hotels connected to thermal spas

• Spa House Beethoven, Teplice – THERMALIUM fills the inner courtyard of the spa house, and from the accommodation section you enter it directly from the first floor without having to go outside. Rooms, restaurant, balneotherapy facilities, thermal pools and the sauna world are all located in the same building. The pools are filled purely with natural thermal water from the Teplice Pravřídlo spring. The main thermal pool has water of around 35 °C, and Lázně Teplice describes it as part of the largest and warmest complex of pools with purely thermal water in Bohemia.

Hotels connected to spas in Austria

1. Aqua Dome 4 Sterne Superior Hotel & Tirol Therme Längenfeld

The Alpine thermal spa in Längenfeld is undoubtedly one of the most stylish spas in Central Europe. It benefits above all from its amazing location in a Tyrolean valley between majestic mountain peaks. The beautiful natural setting is complemented by the very pleasant atmosphere of the spa itself. It is ideal primarily for relaxation and romance. The local wellness & spa centre is of absolutely top quality.

Of course, the quality of accommodation is not lacking either. The local 4-star Aqua Dome hotel, which is directly part of the spa, offers accommodation in an alpine spirit, and you can look forward to maximum comfort. Children will also find something to enjoy in this spa complex, even though it is not a richly equipped aquapark.

2. Therme Laa – Hotel & Silent Spa

Therme Laa is very popular among Czech tourists because it lies right on the Czech border, opposite the South Moravian town of Hevlín. It is a nice, relatively peaceful spa with a very pleasant atmosphere, ideal more for calm relaxation. There are not many attractions here, but children will certainly still enjoy the water fun in the pools.

Accommodation is offered by the connected Hotel & Silent Spa, with an exclusive wellness and spa centre and direct entry to the thermal spa. You can stay in rooms or better-equipped apartments. There is also an excellent restaurant here.

More Austrian hotels connected to thermal spas

• Hotel Paradiso 4 Sterne Superior – Paradiso is connected by a heated and air-conditioned corridor to the entire EurothermenResort Bad Schallerbach complex. Guests therefore have access to the Aquapulco family water world, the tropically styled Tropicana thermal area and the extensive AusZeit sauna area. In addition, the hotel offers its own quiet pool and sauna area exclusively for hotel guests. The system on arrival and departure days is advantageous: guests can enter the thermal spa from 9:00, even before checking into the room. After check-out, the public thermal baths can be used until closing time, and the hotel relaxation area until 22:00; separate changing rooms are available.
• Hotel Royal Bad Ischl – Hotel Royal is connected to Salzkammergut-Therme by a heated panoramic bathrobe corridor. The area includes saltwater pools, the Relaxium sauna world and the hotel’s rooftop SkyLounge section with a thermal infinity pool and views of the surrounding mountains. Hotel guests can use the public thermal baths daily from 7:00 until midnight. On the day of departure, spa access remains valid for the whole day, and the hotel SkyLounge is available until 22:00, even though the room must be vacated at noon.
• Sonnentherme, Lutzmannsburg – Sonnentherme Lutzmannsburg is one of Austria’s best-designed family thermal resorts. Several hotels offer direct covered access. Hotel Sonnenpark – A short covered tunnel leads from the hotel to Sonnentherme. Sonnenpark also offers its own Sunny Bunny Water World exclusively for hotel guests. Hotel Xylophon is also connected to Sonnentherme by a covered corridor.
• Vitalhotel der Parktherme, Bad Radkersburg – Vitalhotel is connected to Parktherme Bad Radkersburg by an underground bathrobe corridor. According to the hotel, every night includes all-day access not only to the thermal pools, but also to the sauna village. The included saunas are a pleasant exception. Bad Radkersburg focuses more on calm thermal relaxation, sauna bathing and regeneration than on slides and children’s attractions.
• Linsberg Asia Hotel & Spa, Bad Erlach – Linsberg Asia is a thermal resort only for guests aged 16 and over. The hotel is connected to the public thermal baths by a bathrobe corridor and also has its own hotel pool, saunas and whirlpools. The whole complex works with Asian architecture and a calmer wellness concept. Every afternoon, a short tea ceremony also takes place in the Zen Lounge, which is free for hotel guests and does not require prior registration.
• Thermenhotel Karawankenhof, Warmbad Villach – Karawankenhof is directly connected to the KärntenTherme complex, which combines thermal pools, a sports swimming area, saunas and a family water world. According to the stay conditions, hotel guests can use the pool, fitness and sauna areas without limitation. The most interesting local speciality is the so-called Urquellbecken – a thermal pool built directly over a natural spring. The water flows into it straight from the ground, and the entire volume of the pool water is naturally replaced roughly every three hours.
• TAUERN SPA Hotel, Kaprun – The hotel is part of the TAUERN SPA Zell am See–Kaprun complex. In addition to the public thermal and sauna world, guests have access to the exclusive Hotel Panorama SPA with a glass-walled Skyline Pool and views of the Kitzsteinhorn glacier.
• St. Martins Therme & Lodge, Frauenkirchen – The lodge is part of the St. Martins thermal resort and offers free access to the public thermal baths and saunas. It also has its own hotel thermal pool, sauna and, in summer, a private beach by the bathing lake. The resort lies next to Neusiedler See–Seewinkel National Park, so thermal relaxation can be combined with organised nature trips and observation of the local fauna. In summer, the large lakeside area known as Summer Island is also open.
